Located alongside Oswald St, north of Murphy's Cut Road. No parking on site. Cemetery appears to be mowed regularly, but no other maintenance. Markers are in poor condition and some are likely missing or were removed during road expansion.

As of June 2026, Lawrence County Assessment Office does not list an owner for the property.

According to Jeff Bales, Jr. in Lawrence County Memoirs, the Chewton Cemetery was founded around 1876 by Samuel Booher for a congregation of Primitive Methodists and Baptists. The congregation has since dissolved, and the location of church records is not known.
