Begun probably in the 1820s as a private cemetery.  Oldest existing marker is for Jefferson Williams, d. 1823.  Organized as the Inlet Valley Cemetery Association in 1867 and numbered lots laid out.  Additional lots added in 1897 and circa 1934.  Assets and property deeded to the Town of Ithaca in 2010.  Cemetery now maintained by the Town of Ithaca.
