The Evans Head Cemetery is on a rise at the edge of town at the end of the aerodrome. It is unique among the graveyards of the north coast of NSW with a central part of it an official World War II War Cemetery managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

The oldest death recorded in the cemetery is that of Walter Edwards who drowned crossing the Evans River on 13 December 1891 and who was buried on the south side of the river before his resting place was moved here.

Evans Head Living Museum www.ehlm.com.au have mapped the entire cemetery including the war graves. A copy of the Register can be viewed at the museum or the library. It contains additional information about the war-time accidents as well as listing all townsfolk who were ADF service personnel.
