Darwin General Cemetery is located beside McMillans Road, Jingili N.T. and extends back to Freshwater Road and across to Seabright Crescent.



Darwin General was opened in 1954 and closed in 1988. It was reopened again in 1989 and subsequently closed in September 2003. Burials are currently only permitted in previously reserved grave sites.

Many Cyclone Tracey victims (Christmas Day 1974) are buried at the Darwin General Cemetery, as well as past Council Alderman and dignitaries.



The Cemetery is nicely maintained by the City of Darwin.
