Estes Cemetery was founded on the Estes Farm by James Estes in 1857, when his wife Sarah passed away and was buried there. James Estes dedicated 1 acre of farm land to the family cemetery. From 1857 - 1867 only James Estes family members were buried here. In 1867 the Estes family opened the cemetery to the public. There are approximately 225 graves including about 50 unmarked graves.
