St. James Churchyard is the historic burial ground of St. James' Anglican Church at 173 King Street in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Designed by convict architect Francis Greenway and constructed with convict labour, the church was commissioned by Governor Lachlan Macquarie and consecrated in February 1824, becoming the oldest surviving church in central Sydney. The churchyard served as an early parish burial site from 1824, holding the remains of colonial residents, convicts, and their families near Hyde Park. Today the site includes a columbarium for the interment of ashes, preserving its role as a place of remembrance within the active heritage-listed church precinct.
