This cemetery was originally known as the "Oak Grove Cemetery" and it is not known when the first internments were made. The Oak Grove Cemetery Association was incorporated in October 1901. The five directors and officers were G.M. Right, President; F.M. Right, Vice-president; W.W. Right, Secretary; J.J. Newlon and B.B. Rohrbaugh. In April of 1912, the Association was dissolved and all property was deeded to G.M. Right and F.M. Right under the management of G.M. Right and Company (Funeral Directors & Embalmers)who were also the managers of the Baptist Cemetery. With the death of G.M.(in 1916)and F.M. (in 1945) the cemetery became unused and fell into disrepair and overgrown. At some point the cemetery became known as the "Old Right Cemetery".
In 2002, the city of Belington contacted the rightful heirs of G.M. and F.M. and the property was deeded to the city and the clean-up process began. A record book kept by the association was donated by Jane Simmons which contains many names of internments and transactions, however no plot map is available. Recently, there has begun a more vigorous restoration process. Many unmarked graves were located and crosses have been installed.
