Kiama Cemetery occupies a generous and attractive site close to the ocean and the railway station at Bombo. It consists of denominational portions, a lawn cemetery and two columbaria. It has a sealed internal roadway and parking facilities within the grounds. This cemetery has previously also been known as "Porter's Garden Cemetery" and "Bombo Cemetery".

The monuments include several sandstones dating from 1855, some of which are now so eroded are difficult to read. The leaded inscriptions on the many marble stones, however, are in good condition considering the sea air in which they have stood for decades. The headstones are generally in good order, erect, and free from recent vandalism. A number of the older stones that have fallen or broken, for whatever reason, have been repaired and remounted where necessary. The grounds are maintained in excellent condition by the Kiama Municipal Council.
