Moosehaven retirement community cemetery was established in 1922 when the Loyal Order of Moose located their national campus here on the banks of St. Johns River. Burials are restricted to members of "The Moose" and their families. Older gravestones follow a uniform template of rectangular concrete slab with name, dates and Moose lodge engraved thereon. A new Mausoleum was erected in 2001 as part of a 15 year restoration project undertaken by the Illinois Moose Association.
