The Huffman Cemetery sits atop land first occupied by pioneers John Huffman and his wife Phoebe Newhouse. This remote tract at the edge of Blue Creek was divided among the Huffman descendants, and many are buried in this cemetery. Because of this, the Huffman Cemetery is sometimes called the Hayes Cemetery.
There is no public access to the Huffman Cemetery. There are several locked gates on dirt roads. To find the Huffman Cemetery, start in Blue Creek on Blue Creek Road from Elkview. Take a left on Three Mile Road. Take the next right on School House Hollow Road. This is a rough dirt road that follows the Right Upper Three Mile Fork Creek. Travel about 2.5 miles, and go left up the ridge. If you are walking, take the hill. If you are driving, there is a lower dirt road that circles around the hill terrain and leads to the hilltop. Follow the GPS to find the cemetery. One map offered an address of Beane Ridge, but this is not well known nor marked.
The cemetery is mowed once a year. There is a fence, gate, and small sign.
