This cemetery is on Maryland Route 6 (New Market Turner Road) about a half mile from the intersection with Maryland Route 5 (Three Notch Road). It is opposite Lettie Dent Elementary School on the south side of the road.

At one time the cemetery belonged to Saint Mary's Episcopal Chapel - All Faith Parish. It was built in 1887, so the "colored" people would have their own church. The records for this church are in the St. Mary's Chapel Registers 1906-1975. The chapel was closed in 1960 and the members joined the congregation of the Parish church. When the church was torn down sometime in the early 70s and some of the headstones were damaged by the bulldozer. Members and descendants of members of this church put up the money to get a granite memorial stone, which contains all of the names of the people who are buried here. They have also rescued some of the grave markers. Those who had burial sites continue to use them.
