Directions: Take FM 535 out of Smithville, go 1.9 miles to metal gate on the right, From metal gate to cemetery you will circle house, go through locked gate, over RR tracks through 2nd gate, and cemetery is in the pasture ahead only a few yards. See Deed Vol 1095 page 750 for Exhibit A map.
History: 12/6/2000. Texas Historical Commission dedicated the Baylor Family Cemetery. That the Baylor Family Cemetery, previously filed and recorded in the Official Public Records of Bastrop County in Vol 221, page 768, and more particularly described in Exhibit A as attached, hereto, has been set aside and dedicated for cemetery purposes through historic use and that such property is now occupied by human graves. That the Texas Historical Commission has duly considered the evidence of existence and historic use of said cemetery and has listed said cemetery as a Historic Texas Cemetery, worthy of preservation.
2/15/1974 Vol 221 p 768 William Lester Dawson and Durlene Dawson sold to Bill Vivian of Harris Co, TX. Subject to the following: Railroad right of way Taylor, Bastrop & Houston Railway vs George W Baylor Vol 59 page 340. 15 ft. easement along East boundary line in deed between J H C Baylor and G S Baylor Vol 93, page 152. Undivided ½ mineral interest 20 years 1/31/1950 from J H C Baylor to L C Ramsey Vol 127 page 348. Mineral lease from Annie Bevin to Edmond Leuschner 6/8/1955 Vol 75 page 528 Oil lease.
Survey records: Socrates Darling League portion of 144 acre tract in deed from J H C Baylor to L C Ramsey 1/31/1950 Vol 127 page 348. Beginning on West boundary of original 750 acre tract by G W Baylor from C Neiderous, railroad right of way, 4.52 acre tract conveyed to C Hanna, West line of Ramsey tract, Northwest line of Smithville-Rosanky Road, FM 535, Northeast corner of Wessel tract, contains 83.132 acres of land. More details are in 2006 deeds Vol 1670 p 241, Vol 1660-255, Vol 1670 p 251, Vol 1670 page 246.
