West Crescent Cemetery
Halfmoon, Saratoga County, New York, USA
The West Crescent Methodist Church was founded in 1835. A formal church building and cemetery plot were erected circa 1842. The building was located at the intersection of Dunsback and Crescent/Vischers Ferry Road (referred to as Gray's Corner).
In 1957, Members from four smaller regional congregations—Grooms (founded 1788), Crescent (founded 1852), West Crescent (founded 1835), and Newtown (founded 1830)—voted to merge. They created the Shenendehowa Methodist Church which is still active today.
The West Crescent Church building was rented out. It burned down in 1967 and was replaced by a gas station. The gas station is no longer in business and is now a car window replacement shop. The cemetery was restored in the summer of 2026. The broken/buried stones were repaired and reset. All the stones were cleaned.
