This is an old and challenging cemetery to walk in. It is built on a long, narrow sand hill that is about 7 meters across at the narrowest point. On the south side the hill drops steeply to the main street. On the north it is an even greater drop to the ravine below. Because it is sand, most of the plots are surrounded by low retaining walls. The oldest section is Number 4, on the south side by the main gates. It is shady and beautiful under the old oaks, but is a treacherous place to walk in certain areas. It is a fascinating place for anyone interested in varieties of moss or mushrooms.
