Pepperrell Plot 65
Also known as Pepperrell Family Tomb, Pepperrell Family Lot, Frost Plot

The Pepperrell Family Plot is on a hilly lot that gently rises, with a few individual gravestone markers surrounding, and the Pepperrell tomb atop the crest of the hill. The Pepperrell tomb has been described as comprising a burial vault underground chamber with remains in an underground shaft beneath the above-ground stone chest box structure topped with flat stone slab that is inscribed as follows:
"Here lyes the Body of the Honourable WILLIAM PEPPERRELL Esq. who departed this Life the 15th of Feb'r Anno Domini 1733. In the 87th Year of his Age with the Remains of great part of his Family."

Further downhill from the family tomb site is a bronze tablet plaque affixed to a granite stone that reads:
"In commemoration of the courage, wisdom and patriotism of
Col. WILLIAM PEPPERRELL
Born in Devonshire 1646
Died in Kittery 1734
And of his son
Sir WILLIAM PEPPERRELL Bart.
Born in Kittery 1696
Died in Kittery 1759
Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas
President of the Council of Massachusetts
He commanded the colonial forces at the successful siege of
LOUISBURG 1745
And in recognition of his services
Was made a baronet and general in the British army
Honors never before conferred on a colonist
