The Heckathorn Cemetery is located along Heckathorn Road, across the road from Heckathorn Church. The burial ground was started previous to 1846, and was set aside for that purpose by Henry Heckathorn in 1846.

The cemetery was more than an acre, and with the purchase of more land, now has about 4 acres. An association was formed in 1951 and a charter was granted Dec 7, 1951.

April 30, 1954 the deed was changed from Heckathorn Church to Heckathorn Cemetery Association.
