Situated on Brunswick Street, Leamington Spa, Leamington Cemetery covers approximately 30 acres and has sections for all denominations. The Cemetery has two chapels, neither of which is still in use.
The first burial took place on the 30th October 1868 and the cemetery was extended in 1938. Part of the old cemetery is an extension of All Saints churchyard: it is within the boundaries of the cemetery, but no records are held by the council.
All records for the following cemeteries are kept in the office at Oakley Wood Crematorium:
- Leamington Spa (Brunswick St-Leamington Cemetery)
- Old Milverton
- Kenilworth (Oaks Rd)
- Warwick
They also hold records of the people who have been cremated at Oakley Wood. They do not have information for those buried in the closed churchyards they maintain.
Any requests for genealogical information should be sent to their email address.
You will need to confirm:
- The name of the cemetery where the person is thought to be buried
- Their full name
- The date they passed away
- If the exact date is not known, you will need to provide the year in which they passed.
If they find the relevant information from their historical ledgers then there is a charge per name. They will then email you the details which will include the grave number and the date of burial, and you will also receive a map showing the location of the grave within the cemetery. The charge (as at April 2025) is £65 per name for genealogical purposes.
