Lydd Cemetery was opened around 1887 when the nearby All Saints Church became full. The land was consecrated by the then Bishop of Dover on the 4th June 1887 and All Saints was closed to new burials from the 9th November 1887. For many years the Cemetery was considered locally to be part of Lydd Churchyard. In 1949 the Cemetery was extended, creating old and new sections. Burial Records exist for the new section since 1949 but unfortunately records for the old section appear to have been lost.
