From the intersection of Ararat Road and Old US 52 South, travel approximately 1.58 miles on Ararat Road; the church and cemetery will be on the left.

The New Hope United Methodist Church was founded May 25, 1836. First Minister was Rev. James H. Needham. If you face the cemetery looking west, the section to the left (south) has numerous field stone markers that are former slaves. Many of the stones are very old and becoming harder to read.
