Carmel Independant Chapel is situated in Carmel Town, Beaufort, Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire, Wales NP23 5PW.
This Independent Chapel was originally constructed in approx 1821, it was rebuilt and enlarged in 1829 and then thirty six years later in 1865 the old place was demolished and totally rebuilt and it is this date that is etched on the exterior wall above the main door.
The Chapel was designed by a Rev. Thomas of Swansea, Wales.
Apparently the Chapel was in frequent use until the mid 70's and the Services were bilingual.....Welsh/English.
The graveyard around the chapel is overgrown and many of the stones so weathered they are illegible.
As of August 2010 this grade ii listed building is up for sale.
