Yandina Cemetery was established in 1882 as the Maroochy General Cemetery and was administered by Trustees until it passed to the control of the then Maroochy Shire Council in 1956. It was about that time that it was renamed as Yandina Cemetery. It is still in use and is managed by the Sunshine Coast Council's ‘Cemetery Services' located 3km away at Kulangoor Cemetery on the northern outskirts of Nambour. Email: [email protected]

Yandina Cemetery covers an area of approximately 4 acres (1.6 hectares) and comprises denominational portions that are no longer indicated in two main sections: YA1 and YA2. There are a number of large family plots, some areas unmarked without any memorials. The Council map does not indicate row numbers, however staff advise that Row 1 in section YA1 is in the northwest corner, but may also start as 1A, 1B, then 1, 2, etc.
