This photo is the entrance to the right section of Galey cemetery, the Old Galey Burial Ground, which is surrounded by an old stone fence. About half of Old Galey Burial Ground, on the right side when you enter, is a field of the oldest, unmarked graves. The few scattered markers in this area are very old and unreadable.
The other half of Old Galey, to the left of the entrance, are graves with marked tombstones, a few from the late 19th century, several from the 20th century, and a few very recent (early 21st century).
There is also a New Galey Burial Ground, which shares the stone fence on the left side of Old Galey (if you are facing the cemetery from the parking lot). New Galey is surrounded by its own fence on the other three sides, and there are very few graves there as of now (2017).
