Maplewood Cemetery
Also known as Juniper Grove Cemetery
Lincolnville, Waldo County, Maine, USA
Maplewood Cemetery lies on Ducktrap Road off Route 1 in Lincolnville and was originally called Juniper Grove Cemetery. It was established in 1888 as a burying ground when Henry Crehore signed a trustee deed to George Ames, George Thomas, R.B. Sherman, and A.A. Fletcher for a half-acre piece of land. More land was deeded by Crehore in 1891, and in 1906 the cemetery was incorporated as Maplewood. In the early 1900s, several graves were moved to it from family-owned burial grounds. Additional land was deeded in 1933 by Erastus Collemor, and in 1958 a land swap with the telephone company increased acreage.
