B. F. Morris Cemetery
Also known as Benjamin Franklin Morris Cemetery
Alto, Franklin County, Tennessee, USA
This cemetery is located in the northeast part of Franklin County, just off Spur Rd. on B.F. Morris Cemetery Rd.
The cemetery was virtually destroyed in 1994/95. Many large old cedar trees that served both as a landmark and as a protection for the stones they sheltered were cut and sold, and a lot of the old stones were either destroyed or misplaced.
Thanks to the efforts of numerous descendants of the Morris family, what remained after the destruction was cleaned up. As many of the stones as possible were placed where they belonged and trees were replanted, but their best efforts could not re-create what was broken and/or hauled away.
It is due to the above destruction that there are now very few stones to photograph of the people buried there.
