The West Wood Cemetery, situated on a knoll, on the south side of Baldwin Road near the intersection of Carroll Road, in the Town of Benton. It is also known as the Crank, Cronk or Carroll Cemetery. The cemetery is located on the early Carroll farmstead. It is reported that the families buried in the cemetery had migrated from Columbia County, NY. West Wood is named for the southwestern part of the Town of Benton, which was the last to be settled.

The cemetery is abandoned, though it appears that the brush is cleared out once a year. There are a number of unmarked graves and many tombstones are broken and/or unreadable. Some plots only show foot and head stones with a field stone on the lot.
