This burial place is referenced to in the book "Vital Records of Edgartown, Massachusetts to 1850", Published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, as G.R.9. This area separated from Edgartown in 1880 and was originally named Cottage City. In 1907, Cottage City changed it's name to Oak Bluffs.
