This cemetery is the largest of all those on Cumberland Island and is located between Terrapin Point and Half Moon Bluff at the northern extremity of Great Cumberland Island. Originally, no specific wall or fence marks off this cemetery, although some family lots have an iron or stone fence. Both black and white inhabitants of the north end of the island are buried here. The known blacks buried here are said to have been either slaves or descendents of slaves who lived at the northern end of the island since the Civil War. Official name for the cemetery is "High Point". The cemetery has been fully enclosed by a chain link fence.
