Wesley Brown Cemetery, Lauderdale County, Alabama. County Rd 51 about 0.3 miles north of "Sledge ford" bridge that crosses Second Creek. Top of hill, on right through gate into woods. 100 ft or so from gate.
Sledge's Ford - Prior to the current asphalt, guard railed county highway that crosses the creek existed a wooden planked single lane bridge in the early 1900's. In the 1800's the creek was shallow enough here that it could be forded across. Sledge is said to have had a store and/or tavern at this ford. Sterling Sledge acquired the property after Wesley Brown's death.
