Hall Cemetery
Cass, Franklin County, Arkansas, USA
At St. Paul, Arkansas, go west for two miles to Brashears' Junction; turn south on Highway 23 and go for 3 miles which will take you to the Franklin County line. Continue on Highway 23 for 1 more mile and you will see Fly Gap Road/FM 1503 which turns to the left in a sharp curve. Turn here and go East on Fly Gap Road/FM 1503/Franklin County #81. Go 3.7 miles and on your left you will see a Forest Service Road (#1531 but there may or may not be a marker showing this number); this road turns sharply to the left and goes downhill. Turn here and follow this road. This road is rutted, may be muddy and slick, and a small creek crosses the road several times. I would suggest a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
When you have gone 8/10 of a mile and have gone down a short steep hill, you will cross a small creek at the bottom of the hill. As soon as you cross the creek, turn left and follow the visible road/trail for about 500 feet. There will be a pile of dirt in the road to stop vehicles from driving any further, and the cemetery will be in the trees, about 100 feet to the right of this dirt pile. The tombstones and the iron fence surrounding them can be seen from the road when the leaves are off of the trees.
There is a single tombstone bearing 3 inscriptions for Harvey Houston Hall; Mary Jane McKINNEY Hall; and their Infant. The tombstone is enclosed by a 12 x 20 foot scalloped topped iron fence with a padlocked gate. There are also several other graves marked only with fieldstones in the area outside of the fence.
