This cemetery is located in the rural area of Proctor Hollow, Whitley County, Kentucky.

It is listed in Vol III of the Whitley Co., Cemetery Books on page 30. OLD BLACK OAK/MALICOAT CEM. On top of hill, past a Church, near Jellico, TN/KY. By: Nell Davis around 1973.

There are many graves without markers, many with just stones marking the graves, and many are sunken. Tread carefully.

Directions from Jellico, Tennessee: Travel north on US-25W/North Main Street, entering Whitley County Kentucky. Turn left/east onto Black Oak Road, travel approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Black Oak Cemetery Road.

Directions from Red Ash, Kentucky: Travel south on US-25W. After approximately 1 mile, turn right/west onto Black Oak Road. After traveling approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Black Oak Cemetery Road.

* Once on Black Oak Cemetery Road, you will soon see the cemetery on your left. Upon traveling less than a tenth of a mile to the end of the dead end road, you will find a pull-up area to park your vehicle.
