Esperanza Cemetery

Caution is highly recommended if you visit this cemetery because of the rough terrain and isolation of the location. The cemetery can only be reached on foot.
Directions
The Esperanza Cemetery is approximately 65 miles east from El Paso on I-10. Traveling east on I-10, the Esperanza exit is after the Fort Hancock (55 miles) and McNary exits.
After taking the Esperanza exit, turn right at the stop sign and take the gravel road south. It goes for about a mile. As you go down the hill, the road will dead end onto a paved road. It is the old 192 road.
As you go down this road, there is an abandoned air field on the left side. Park on the air field. The owner of the air field lives on the south end of the runway in an old house. If he happens to be there, tell him you are going to the cemetery.
You will have to cross the barb-wired fence. There is a small opening in the fence and sort of a path that will bypass the small gully.
