Also known as Old Walkaway Cemetery, this small pioneer cemetery was surveyed and laid out on 20 June 1867 by William Phelps. He marked out four cemeteries for the use of Anglicans, Wesleyans, Congregationalists and Roman Catholics. The Roman Catholics were they only group to use this site as a cemetery.

This area of Greenough was originally called "Wagawa" referring to the nearby break in the hills where the Greenough River flows. With the coming of European settlers in the early 1850's the name was changed to Walkaway.

At least 33 people are buried here, (nearly half being infants and small children) many in unmarked graves. There could be more.

Cemetery is now inactive and maintained by the Greenough Pioneer Museum and other historical societies.
