Freedom Chute, the father of 10 children, is buried here with 4 of his daughters (they were all married) and a grandson, son of Charles and Mina Chute.

Freedom was the first of three brothers who moved to the Songo Locks area from Rome, Maine. His brother Moses, and later James followed him. Moses is buried in a cemetery on private property on the Songo Locks Road. James is buried at Much Cemetery in S. Casco.

Most of the Chutes in Casco descend from Freedom's son Leander Freedom. Freedom's other sons moved away from the area. Charles moved to Silver Ridge Plantation in Aroostook County. Webster moved to the Holden Maine area.

Cemetery is in woods off of State Park Road on Point Sebago property.
