The Zimmerman Family were early German settlers of Cheektowaga, NY. (A photo of their "Board & Batten" house is published in the 1989 Cheektowaga Sesquicentennial book.) They were known for growing the first apple orchards in the area. They buried their own on their privately owned property. The location of their land was on Pine Hill Road near Maryvale Road, now the site of either Mount Calvary Cemetery or the Kensington expressway. The unknown named bodies were reinterred on September 30, 1929 by the United German & French Cemetery. (now owned by Mt. Calvary Cemetery Inc.) Notations of the burial: lot 1-15-1-23.
