In 1900, Holy Cross Cemetery was founded and parishoners were encouraged to move their loved ones to the new cemetery. Over the years about 125 bodies were moved. Those left in the old cemetery, were ultimately abandoned and the area became overgrown. In 1986, an effort was made to photograph the old stones, broken, hidden in brush and under fallen trees. These pictures appear on this web site.
