Slate Cemetery is in District 7 on Cottonwood Hollow Road, south of Red Boiling Springs.

From East Main Street in Red Boiling Springs, take Oak Grove Rd. south to a fork where it splits into three roads. Take the far right fork, Cottonwood Hollow Road, south. Continue south on Cottonwood Hollow Road past Collins Lane. The cemetery sits on private property on the west side of the road, immediately past the crossing of Cottonwood Hollow Road over Licking Creek. It is on a small hill in a pasture near the road. The property owner kindly allowed us to come on the property to photograph the few stones and pieces that remain strewn in the trees.

According to the Macon County Historical Society there are four known and nine unknown burials here.
