This was the first church and cemetery site for Gethsemane Lutheran. The second cemetery (the church was moved to the town of Dassel) is less than a mile away, Steelsville cemetery.

"This marker is dedicated to those pioneers who came to America to establish a home for themselves and their families and a place to worship their God. In 1873 they organized and buuil their first log church in Dalman's Skoog (woods). The beginning of the church was located 800 feet to the north. A final resting place for their loved ones was located 200 feet to the south. There are 13 unmarked graves in this unmarked cemetery. Johnsons; Colemans; Danielsons; Dahlmans' and others have loved ones buried here." is written on the plaque.
