In 1873, Archdeacon Morse laid out the pretty little cemetery on the hill, belonging to Christ Church. The first burial in it was that of a reinterment, the body of Sarah Hibbert, first buried in the Government Cemetery. She died in 1872, and the reinterment took place in 1873. Her cross was the first erected in the churchyard. Another reinterment was that of the body of Sarah Norman, mother of John Robert Norman, and her remains were interred in her son-in-law's garden at Wisanger, on the road to Normanville. Coffins in those days were made of green wood, and that of Mrs. Norman, when taken up in 1884, was as good as when it was put down, 30 years earlier. Her daughter and son-in-law (Mr. and Mrs. Septimane Herbert), he in a line with her, also, a little great-granddaughter (Anna Eulalie Newbury) is buried in this churchyard.
Thomason Dinham is the oldest person buried in this churchyard. She died in 1882 at the Little Gorge, aged 98. Charles Dinham had been buried in 1880, aged 77.
Their memory survives on Dinham Hill, on the way to Second Valley. John Hunt, aged 91, lies with his wife, Martha, aged 86. Three clergymen are buried in this church, the Revs. Richard Josling, C W. Hawkins, and Archdeacon Morse. Bungala.
