Emeline Roberts McCormick was awarded land by the US Government for her father, James Bell Roberts' service during the US Civil War. In her will, she set aside 1 acre to be used as a family cemetery. There are many McCormick, Jones and Roberts family members buried here.

There is no signage for this private family cemetery.

Interestingly, Emeline Roberts McCormick is not listed among the interred, but it is thought she might be the first person buried here along with her husband Thomas Neal McCormick. Perhaps their gravesites were unmarked or lost over time.

This is the actual McCormick Jones private family cemetery. It was often confused with Cosmo Cemetery located in south Jacksonville off of McCormick Boulevard. Cosmo Cemetery is now called Palm Springs Cemetery. (by name). The two cemeteries are about ten miles away from each other.
