In 1940, Section 2 /Township 20 S. Range 29E. parcel #4 was recorded by Seminole County as: Island Lake Church Yard Cemetery. After the old Island Lake Church burned down, the Island Lake Burial League began burying in the old Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery, renaming it New Island Lake Cemetery. The Old Island Lake Cemetery now stands with no markers, although it is reported to have a large number of graves. In the defunct Pinnie Grove Cemetery, I have found depressions and headstones quite a few yards from the main group at New Island, so I'm not sure if they are from New Island, or the are the old Pinnie Grove graves. It's mostly a large clearing in the woods, but some graves are at the woodline, and approaching from Markhamwoods Rd, there are depressions in the wooded area as you walk into the clearing.
The grounds are minimally maintained, and hunters use it from time to time. Some graves have only metal funeral home markers, some rusted or unreadable, some full stones.
