A monument in this cemetery in the Rural Municipality of Stanley, erected in July 1984, commemorates Herold Mennonite Church. It was founded in 1919 by Michael Klaassen and others who came here from the Herold Mennonite Church in Cordell, Oklahoma, USA. Klaassen served as minister of the church until his death in 1934. In the absence of leadership, the church dissolved in 1945. (Source: Manitoba Historical Society [Adapted])

Dominion Land Survey coordinates: LSD15-28-03-05-W1
Located NNE of the town of Morris, MB, on the south side of Provincial Range Road 17N, midway between Provincial Roads 27W and 28W

A part of the story of the town and its inhabitants from the early days of European settlement through roughly 1980 is told in the volume "10 Dollars and a Dream - Parkhill-Cheval", especially starting on page 350. A digital version of this and many other Manitoba local history books can be found online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
