An estate church erected in 1864 by Miss Louisa Ann Ryland at a cost of £20,000 from designs by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Lavishly adorned with carving and shafts of red and green marble. The church has a very prominent NW steeple with a thin and high spire.

The building contains a brass from 1624 and monuments to the Webb family (from 1728) which survive from the earlier medieval church. There was a priest in Sherbourne as early as 1086. There were later alterations in 1882.

The churchyard contains some 18th century headstones. The church registers begin in 1587 and comprise of seven volumes.
