Farington is a small village and civil parish in the South Ribble local government district of Lancashire.
The parish was part of Preston Rural District throughout its existence from 1894 to 1974. In 1974 the parish became part of South Ribble.
St Paul's Church is actually in the village of Farington Moss, Lancashire. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Leyland, the archdeaconry of Blackburn and the diocese of Blackburn. Its benefice is united with that of St James, Lostock Hall. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It was a Commissioners' church, having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission. It was built in 1839–40 and consecrated on 27 June 1849.
The churchyard contains war graves of five soldiers of World War I, and a soldier, a Marine and Royal Navy sailor of World War II.
