The cemetery is located at the rear of the Fairfax County vehicle maintenance facility at 3609 Jermantown Road, across from Providence Elementary School. It was established in 1946 to provide a place of burial for indigent persons who die in Fairfax County and poor residents of Fairfax who cannot afford funeral expenses. The cemetery is now full and closed to new burials since 1993.
