Formerly known as Haydonton Cemetery. This burial ground was part of the private subdivision into town allotments of the area known as Haydonton, owned by Thomas Haydon of Bloomfield, Blandford. About 1846 Haydon set this portion apart as a Protestant cemetery, having previously made provision for a Roman Catholic Church site and burial ground in Polding Street. The Haydonton Cemetery was administered by trustees for the Church of England, Presbyterian and Methodist portions until its transfer to the custody of the Murrurundi Shire Council.
