Loughaghery Presbyterian Graveyard
Annahilt, County Down, Northern Ireland
The first meeting house in Loughaghery was built in 1755 near Lough Aghery and a new one on the present site c.1775. It was later replaced by the present building.
The oldest date of death on any gravestone is 1807 and all stones with dates before 1900 have been copied.
The graveyard is on all sides of the church, sloping down to a river at the bottom of a hill. There is an old gate and bank dividing off the lowest part. In this area below the church there are two vaults, one without inscription and roofless and the other with its inscribed headstone, smashed and the graves inside vandalised. The upper part of the graveyard is rough and the highest enclosure almost inaccessible.
