On the ridgeline overlooking Parrots Nest and Blue Knob, the Tucki Tucki cemetery is the resting place of over 400 people. The first recorded use was in 1869 however the earliest headstone is from 1875. It became a registered cemetery on 14th Jan 1891. A small columbarium was added in 1999. The grounds re maintained by the Lismore City Council. Coraki Museum http://coraki.town/museum/ contains files and photographs of many of the families buried in this cemetery. They can supply a comprehensive section/row map and plan. Aboriginal Bora Ring Bora Rings are circles in the ground constructed from earth and stone. Before the British invasion of Australia in 1788 Bora Rings were integral to the religious ceremonies of the Aboriginal people and were typically associated with male initiation ceremonies. Bora Rings are connected to a complex design of paths which led to smaller circles, the size of which often reflected social hierarchies. The areas surrounding the smaller rings acted as temporary campsites for any visiting groups attending the ceremonies.
