It was officially consecrated in 1912 at the same time as the St.John the Divine Church. In 1927, the lumber resources had dried up & the Mill closed. With the end of the lumbering era, the cemetery & church closed in 1931. Without any other industry for employment, most people moved away. Byng Inlet was once one of the largest sawmill operations in Ontario. It is now a semi ghost town and the cemetery is almost forgotten. St.Andrews Presbyterian cemetery is adjoining.
