The first Jewish cemetery in Delden was located on the Hengelosestraat. After 1869, this cemetery no longer was legal as the owner did not want to erect a fence around the property. Between 1869 and 1879 Jews were buried in Borne. The new cemetery in Deldeneresch was opened in 1879.

The cemetery has been recognized as a national monument since 1972. The cemetery was restored in 1991 at the initiative of Alex Groenheim. His name and that of his brother Benny are affixed to the fence near the cemetery. Both were buried here.
