The Hewitt Family Burial Ground is documented by Dr. Raymond Martin Bell and the Washington County Historical Society located "west of Hewitt Road and south of Rt. 844 (Jefferson Avenue) in the woods above" behind Shorty's Lunch restaurant. The cemetery is located on the property named "Leets Fancy" originally owned by Jonathan Leet and later purchased (1807?) by Johann Phillip Huet (Find A Grave Memorial #156163420). Philip "Howit" is shown as owner on a 365 acre land patent named "Wolf's Den" in Amwell Township dated 20 Feb 1786 as a Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant. It is documented that Phillip and Eva Maria (Mong) Hewitt sold their farm in Amwell Township to their son George Hewitt and moved to Canton Township, now Wolfdale.

The boundaries of the cemetery are unknown and it has been neglected and vandalized over the years. The northeastern edge is along a ridge that overlooks Sugar Run stream and Jefferson Ave. (SR 844) and is about 1000 feet up the hill from S. Hewitt Ave roughly bordering the cemetery on the east. A few of the headstones remain and have been broken or lie flat on the ground. The graves have been vandalized. Reportedly, some of the headstones were discarded into Sugar Run below. Trees and dead-fall vegetation abound due to neglect.
